Our Approach
At Koru Wellness, we focus on creating space to help you understand yourself deeply so that meaningful, lasting change can happen.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which means we explore your past experiences, patterns, and subconscious beliefs. Often, the anxiety or challenges we experience in the present are connected to things that we haven’t fully processed.
Together, we begin to bring awareness to these patterns so you can start to see yourself, your reactions, and your experiences with more clarity and compassion.
Alongside this, I integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This supports you in learning how to relate differently to your thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them. Instead of trying to eliminate anxiety, we work on building a stronger, healthier relationship with it which allows that long-term change we all yearn for.

developing a more grounded relationship with yourself
creating space for choice, rather than reaction

Meet your therapist
Hi, I’m Arnika Ruegg.
A licensed counsellor, community founder and Yoga teacher.
I am passionate about helping women free themselves from the burden of anxiety and anything else holding them back in life.
For years, anxiety and stress shaped my life. After losing my mum as a child, fear and control became my normal. My mind was often in a constant spiral, and I experienced anxiety attacks regularly. I spent a long time feeling overwhelmed, lost, and stuck.
However, things eventually started to change for me.
Through a long process of learning, unlearning, and rebuilding, I gradually moved into a place of peace and clarity in who I was. I eventually came home to myself again. Through this journey, I discovered it was my mission to help others find their way too.
I’m now a qualified counsellor, specialising in anxiety and mental health, as well as a certified yoga teacher. I also am the proud founder of Sydney Girls Connect, a womens community. My work brings together formal counselling and psychology studies with lived experience, offering a grounded and relatable approach.
I’ve spent years learning how to understand anxiety, rather than fight it, and building a different relationship with it. This is now at the centre of the work I share.

While every client’s journey is unique, our work together often involves the below process.

Building awareness
We begin by creating a safe space where you can start to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences more openly. This includes understanding what’s currently coming up for you, particularly around anxiety or feeling unsettled.

Understanding patterns
As we continue, we begin to explore deeper patterns by looking at past experiences, relationships, and subconscious beliefs that may be shaping how you feel and respond today.

Develop the relationship within
Through this awareness, we start to shift how you relate to your thoughts and emotions. Rather than feeling overwhelmed or controlled by them, you begin to meet yourself with more understanding and steadiness.

Create grounded change
Over time, this work allows for meaningful change. Feeling more connected to yourself, more regulated in your nervous system, and more able to move through life with clarity rather than anxiety.
Pricing
We believe counselling should be accessible and flexible, which is why we offer a range of session packages to suit different needs and budgets.
All new clients begin with a complimentary 10-minute Consulation Call to ensure we're the right fit for one another.
Following the call, you're welcome to book a single session or purchase a session package. If you begin with a single session and later decide to upgrade to a package, the amount already paid for your individual session will be credited toward the package price.

This free 10 minute call gives you an opportunity to share what has brought you here, ask any questions, indentify what support you're looking for and get a feel for how I work. Finding a counsellor you click with is so important for your healing journey, and this conversation helps ensure you feel comfortable moving forward.

For those seeking flexibility, individual sessions can be booked as needed. This option may be suitable if you'd like to experience a counselling session before committing to a package or if you're looking for occasional support around a specific concern. While a single session can provide valuable insight and practical strategies, meaningful and lasting change often benefits from ongoing support over time. For this reason, many clients choose one of the counselling packages below after their initial consultation.

Save $30This package is a supportive starting point for clients wanting short-term guidance and a chance to begin exploring patterns, challenges, and practical tools in more depth. Three sessions allow us to move beyond the surface level and create some continuity between sessions, helping insights translate into everyday life. This option suits those navigating a specific life challenge, transition, or period of stress while still wanting flexibility. It offers a gentle introduction to the counselling process without a long-term commitment.

Across five sessions, we'll have time to understand patterns, develop practical strategies, and reflect on progress as new insights emerge. Save $300This package is designed for those seeking longer-term support and a deeper therapeutic process. Ten sessions allow us to work more comprehensively through long-standing patterns, emotional challenges, relationship dynamics, or periods of significant personal transformation. The extended timeframe provides greater opportunity for reflection, integration, and lasting change while maintaining consistent support throughout the process. This option is best suited to clients who already feel ready to commit to a more ongoing counselling journey.
